Opening a song

Once you have finished entering the data for your song, you will want to save it. Likewise if you just created a new song based on an old template, you may want to save it before entering the new settings, as simply creating a new song will not automatically save the song.

Save

You can save a song by selecting Save from the File menu ( CMD+S on Mac, ALT+S on Windows). If another song with the same song titles exists, you will be asked if you want to overwrite the existing one, create a new one with the same title (Your song list will then contain 2 songs with the same title), or to cancel.

Save As

Sometimes you may be working on a song and will want to save an additional copy of it rather than overwriting the saved settings. You could be on an older song and want to start a new different song based on the current one, or you could want to save a different version of the current song, allowing you to go back to the old settings. This can be done using the Save As command form the File menu ( CMD+SHIFT+S on Mac, CTRL+SHIFT+S on Windows). This will bring up a dialog box allowing you to give a song title, artist name, and date. If you keep the same song title, you will be asked if you want to overwrite the existing song using that title, save a new song using the same song title, or cancel.
